Overview

**Part-Time: 30 hours per week**

**Must be able to occasionally travel to other states in support of Remediation field activities**

JOB DUTIES:

General Requirements:
Experienced remediation engineer to help manage cleanup of surface and subsurface media (soil, surface water and groundwater) at a manufacturing site in Wichita KS. Desired project management or remediation engineering experience in the following: project planning (cost and schedule), tracking financial performance, supervising contractors, ensuring regulatory compliance, meeting performance goals, working closely with regulatory agency staff. Candidate must be able to successfully apply knowledge of project management and/or engineering processes and practices to cost and schedule accuracy, remediation technology applications, and risk management to ensure that the technical integrity and business goals are achieved. Ability to work and communicate effectively with other internal and external organizations required.

Will be required to understand and support company remediation project management requirements and processes, and have the ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner with project managers, company management and suppliers. Will provide field support to assist with subsurface investigations, source area remediation, and operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems. May also be required to transition into a technical project manager role in the future if required, and may be required to provide occasional field support at other company remediation sites throughout the US.

This position is a part time position

JOB SKILLS: Key Qualifications

The contractor will be a professional environmental consultant with preferably 5 years direct experience working on remediation projects at solvent contaminated sites. The contractor shall have performed such work in various locations in the United States, and shall have experience in performing soil and groundwater sampling investigations, and field experience implementing source area remediation and operation and maintenance of groundwater treatment systems. U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to occasionally travel to other states in support of company Remediation field activities.

Must have a technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years'. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

Specific Skills Required:

*Budget tracking, forecasting, and visibility.
Remediation project management or remediation engineering experience. Experience in tracking overall project budgets, contracts and invoices, identifying opportunities to improve current financial tracking tools, creating reports that will help more accurately track current activities to aid in predicting future budgets, and updating all management required visibility tools.

*Field Activities
Provide field activity oversight for current and future field work such as groundwater monitoring, operation and maintenance of groundwater extraction and soil vapor extraction systems, assisting with carbon donor and Zero Valent Iron injection projects, and supervising suppliers.
Other Skills Desired:

*Data Management
Desirable to have experience with ESRI GIS software to input all types of Remediation data in various formats including Access, Excel, Asci, Autocad, DXF, Mr.Sid, JPEG, etc. Desirable to have experience downloading data in usable formats to contractors, landowners, and regulatory agencies to use in remediation support projects like groundwater modeling, EVS, and Risk Assessments reports.

*Due Diligence Assessments
Desired experience in investigation of soil and water to identify potential contaminants and recommend remedial alternatives at project locations. Including performing environmental due diligence projects for industrial and commercial transactions, including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM standards. Develops and directs contractor implementation of work plans and cost forecasts. Prepare and submit multiple reports to environmental agencies for approval. Performs multiple environmental assessments for potential and newly acquired businesses and properties. Prepare concise reports that assess potential environmental liability risks, and compliance and operational status at manufacturing facilities. Directs vendor, contractor and supplier activities, tracks performance and reviews invoices. Coordinates public information with internal stakeholders prior to release. Provides recommendations to business units to make informed decisions regarding environmental liability associated with mergers, acquisitions and investitures. Conducts periodic financial and project status reviews for business unit and enterprise management. Interact closely with other company functions including real property, site services (facilities), and business unit EHS.
12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
