Overview

JOB DUTIES: Commercial airplane propulsion structures engineering design position. Apply knowledge of structural design, materials, design definition principles, regulatory/qualification environment, and configuration management principles to create structural designs of commercial airframe products. Evaluate designs and perform trade studies for performance, structural adequacy, cost effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. Integrate technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. Document results in drawings, datasets, reports, specifications, and supporting data. Interface with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.

JOB SKILLS: JOB SKILLS: REQUIRES B.S. OR M.S. DEGREE IN ENGINEERING (MECHANICAL, CIVIL OR AERONAUTICAL PREFERRED) DEGREE AND TYPICALLY A MINIMUM OF 8 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN AN ENGINEERING CLASSIFICATION. Prior Company experience preferred; experience designing propulsion structural component required. Candidate must have evidence to show they are capable of performing structural design, and lay-out capability using BCA approved structures workstation tools. CATIA V5 and ENOVIA/PDM experience highly preferred. Candidate must have propulsion structures design engineering experience with any or all of the following commodities nacelle structure (including inlets, fan cowls, thrust reversers), engine exhaust, engine mounts, pylon/strut, etc.). Candidate must be able to plan and organize their time to work productively and efficiently while being able to adjust to multiple demands. Good teaming and communication skills required. Strong mechanical aptitude is desired. Strong communication skills and proficiency with standard PC desktop applications is required.

OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION: Previous Company experience preferred. U.S. Person status required with ability to start assignment within four to six weeks. This requisition supports staffing requirements for several existing and developmental airplane programs in Washington State. Positions may be located in Everett or Renton.
6+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.
