As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team, you are a champion of process improvement. You will lead and participate in the implementation and maintenance of methods, operation sequences, processes and factory-wide initiatives related to product movement, material control and evaluation of new equipment used in the fabrication of machined parts for the commercial and defense aerospace markets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate new equipment technologies; tool selection, fixture design and N/C Programming
- Support for plant layout, purchase of equipment, upgrade of equipment and feasibility studies
- Interface with Design Engineering to co-ordinate new product release to production
- Document process steps to allow manufacturing of products
- Responsible for developing and implementing manufacturing processes
- Make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing processes
- Design new fixtures to support process change
SKILLS
- Demonstrated mechanical and technical knowledge with the ability to resolve and provide technical solutions
- Experience with CNC multi (5)-axis machining centers, lathes, millturns 9-axis and exotic materials
- Exposure to CAD/CAM packages such as NX, Catia, Espirit
- Experience in model based definition a plus
- Knowledge of current manufacturing processes/technologies; standards and specifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer focus attitude
- Continuous improvement mindset and/ or knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma methodologies
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- AA or BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or technically related field preferred
- Minimum five (5) years experience in a metals manufacturing environment preferred
