Computer Security & Information Protection Specialist

JOB DUTIES:
Evaluates and prepares computing and information security risk assessments. Provides component level threat assessments. Helps to ensure that systems are compliant with applicable Government and Corporate requirements. Analyzes and records security incidents and makes recommendations to address and mitigate security risks. Participates with a team to provide consultation on complex computer security issues. Develops and maintains information security processes and policies. Collects, preserves and documents information to assist in investigations. Assists incident response teams. Investigates, analyzes and resolves moderately complex IS security questions and problems. Assists in the development of training materials and processes. Reviews network technology projects for possible security impact. Supports programs following the rules and regulations outlined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Industrial Security Field Operations (IFSO), and the Office of the Designated Approving Authority (ODAA). A plus if familiar with the Defense Security Services operations as they pertain to NISPOM, IFSO, or ODAA guidelines. a plus if candidate has these skills: SQL Server/Oracle Development & Administration, Oracle Designer, PHP Web Development & Scripting.


JOB SKILLS:
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 to 10 years' related work experience or a Master's degree with up to 2 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Competencies include: collaboration, communication, systems thinking, certification and qualification, information assurance, information protection, information technology fluency.
